Neetu Kapoor remembers Rishi Kapoor on his 73rd birth anniversary

On Thursday, the late Rishi Kapoor’s 73rd birth anniversary was marked with love and memories, as his wife, actress Neetu Kapoor, shared an emotional post for her husband, calling him someone who will “always remain in our hearts.”

Neetu posted a video on Instagram from the show ‘Khullam Khulla: Live with Rishi Kapoor’. The clip showed several family members and friends of the legendary actor, including his brother Randhir Kapoor, son Ranbir Kapoor, daughter Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, sister Reema Jain, filmmaker Ramesh Sippy, and veteran star Jeetendra.

With the video, Neetu wrote a short but touching caption: “You will always remain in our hearts… happy birthday.”

Rishi Kapoor, known for his memorable roles across decades, was diagnosed with leukemia in 2018. He spent nearly a year in New York for treatment and returned to India after recovery.

In April 2020, his health worsened due to breathing problems. He was admitted to Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital in Mumbai and passed away on April 30, 2020, at the age of 67.

Rishi and Neetu Kapoor, one of Bollywood’s most loved couples, tied the knot in 1980. They had a beautiful journey together, filled with films, family, and memories.

In 2017, Rishi released his autobiography ‘Khullam Khulla: Rishi Kapoor Uncensored’, co-written with journalist Meena Iyer. The book offered a candid look at his life, career, and personal experiences.

Meanwhile, just days before Rishi’s birth anniversary, Neetu and her son Ranbir took part in Ganpati Visarjan celebrations. On August 31, the mother-son duo performed aarti before bidding farewell to Lord Ganesha. Ranbir was dressed in a blue kurta with white pajama, while Neetu wore a white salwar suit.

A video from the event showed Ranbir carrying the idol, chanting “Ganpati Bappa Morya,” performing aarti with Neetu, and breaking a coconut before seeking blessings.
